Deviation Actions

Ok, a day or so ago, HalTenny posted a journal about his need to leave some groups due to the volume of deviations being submitted, and I agreed with his basic point... and now today I find myself in the same boat.

I had to remove myself from The_Colors_of_The_Mind group due to the lack of any limit on how many pieces people can submit... one person (I will not name names) had submitted something like 20 or 30 pieces yesterday, and submitted another 20 or 30 today, but even worse, someone else had submitted over 50 pieces of art today... that group stack was by far the largest stack in all the art I had to view today.

Now, I am not saying the art was not worth viewing, many pieces were very nice, but when I start going through such a long list of stuff by the same person, it becomes boring, no matter how nice the individual pieces might be...

So, since the group does not want to have limits, I simply cannot continue. If you belong to that group, and enjoyed getting favs from me, and you don't belong to other groups I belong to, and are not on my watch list, then you might want to consider watching me and I'll watch you back, that way you can still get the favs (providing of course, you are NOT one of the people uploading 20 or more pieces a day)

Yes, it would be nice if dA could add a feature to automatically remove a deviation from all stacks once you have seen it in one place, but being slightly acquainted with both computer programming and HTML code, I know this might be a job that is either too difficult or would cause dA to slow down even more than "more like this" has bogged the site... even adding a symbol to deviations telling you you had already faved or commented on a piece would likely be a difficult task and again, might really slow the whole site down, because it involves a lot more processing as well as more internet traffic between users and servers... so I am willing to suffer with the fact that I sometimes see the same work five or six times while going through my stacks...

But come on people! 20 to 50 pieces submitted in one day?? Do you actually think that's going to get you more friends, watchers and views? And if it does, so what? There is no prize for uploading the most stuff the fastest...

So I say, take it easy on everyone, upload the best stuff, and take your time doing it... IT IS NOT A COMPETITION!

I have to agree that is pretty excessive. I hate to say it, but when I reach a huge stack of devs to review, I get bored after the first few and deleted the rest. I think something is lost when too much is posted at once; the art itself does not seem as special. I am not saying it is not good, but it gets to be redundant. That is only my opinion, though. :)
