What Cost Semantics?
The Politics of Disrespect.
In the second Presidential Debate, there was a point at which President Obama informed Mitt Romney that he was incorrect about his claims in regards to what exactly The President had said in the Rose Garden the day after the Libya attack that killed four Americans.
According to Mr. Romney, the President never called this incident an Act of Terror. Unfortunately, that is exactly what Mr. Obama had said. And in telling Mr. Romney he was not stating the truth, Mr. Obama refrained from actually using the term liar, giving Mitt the benefit of a doubt that perhaps he had simply made a mistake.
A day or two later, a reporter for a newspaper asked Tag Romney (Mitt's son) how it felt to hear the President call his father a liar. Again, unfortunately, nobody had called Mitt a liar. But Tag definitely had something to say about it, he stated that he wanted to "take a swing" at the President.
Now regardless of your feelings about Mitt Romney, President Obama, or even Tag Romney himself, one can clearly see that this was extreemely disrespectful of the President. If the tables had been turned, and Mitt Romney had been President and someone had said they would "take a swing" at him, we would never hear the end of it. Demands for an apology would ring out on Fox News! (Evidence for this is simple to find, as Fox news is already demanding that Whoopi Goldberg apologize for being rude to Ann Romney, on "The View")
When someone asked Mitt Romney about his son's comment, he responded that it was simply his son expressing his frustration over the negativity of this current campaign. Lord knows, the psyche of a 42 year old grown man is fragile and needs be protected from such horrors as hearing the President say "You're wrong Mr. Romney."
Yes, I do believe, we not only all owe an apology to Ann Romney, but to Tag as well... we should not state facts that might frustrate this delicate sensibility!
In all this, I have yet to hear anyone calling for an apology to the young daughters of Barack Obama... two young girls who have had to hear that their father is not an American, is not really the President, was not born in the USA, is a socialist, a communist, a nazi, a terrorist and a Musim, as well as being a secret homosexual who had other gay men murdered to hide his past... but of course, these young girls are far far strronger and much better equiped to deal with such attacks than poor Tag Romeny, a grown man who of course cannot be expected to know better!
All I can say is an old chestnut, direct from the Bible which all these republicans CLAIM to venerate:And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Matthew 7:2-4

Exactly! Having heard too much of this crap from people, (I don't watch telly), I am choosing now to believe Mitt is part of a conspiracy to make Obama's re-election a certainty, as the fact that he really IS that dumb and prejudiced scares me too much!
