I like JW a little better than Apo, it's a bit easier to understand the interface, but it's a bit slower too, because of it being written in Java.
thanks!

you're always very welcome, i have a little bit time to watch your work, I'm very very busy at the moment, I can make not more than 2 fractals per day.

I know what you mean, I have been very busy too... and yes, JWildfire takes a bit longer to render things than Mandelbulb usually

on my pc JWildfire takes not so long as Mandelbulb, when I use the the extern renderer

oh, for me it seems to take longer... I have been using the newest version of JWildfire and the C+ renderer, I guess that is the external... the normal Java renderer is much much slower for me

yes Java is slower and C+ renderer is very fast, when I use 1024x768 it takes me only 5 minutes, the Java is 10-20 minutes or longer in this size.

wow, I did one last night at 2048 X 1536 and it took overnight... with the C+ renderer...
but then, my machine is very old and doesn't have a lot of memory either

getting there! I use to do Apo, so JW isn't all that different... better in many ways.

thanks!

Truly an awesome work for the "first shot", my friend :-)

yes, someone mentioned that (I think it was BunnyWithRose)

I do have one question, I was told I can change the thread count of the renders... does that apply to the interactive renderer, and can I resume an old render at a lower thread count, and how do I change the thread count?
(if I render something at a large size, and high quality, I can't do anything else while it renders)

There is currently no way to change the thread count, because it's actually is not necessary. If you plan to do something while rendering just lower the process priority in the windows task manager of the JWildfire process (or JWildfireC.exe if you use the new renderer) to "below normal", then you can work as usual. I use this all the time.
If it really helps it would be no problem to include an option to decrease threads. But I think it would be better to include an option to set up the process priority. What do you think?

well, setting process priority would be better I guess, Incendia has that option and it seems to work well, while Mandelbulb uses thread count and I'm not always as happy with that... thanks!

Surprisingly this is difficult because there seems no platform-independant solution for setting task/thread priorities. So this feature is currently delayed. Which does not mean that it is forgotten :-)

well, I can always change it manually in the windows task manager, so its not a real problem!

yes, its free... you can get it here: [link]

Parameters are compatible with Apophysis, but scripts and plug-ins have to be converted... not sure how that's done.

and thanks!
